This design is inspired by the idea that human life—and terrestrial vertebrates more broadly—originated in aquatic environments is rooted in evolutionary biology, positing that early vertebrates emerged from primordial seas before gradually adapting to terrestrial life. Through a process of morphological transformation driven by natural selection, piscine ancestors with scales evolved into amphibious forms, eventually giving rise to reptiles. Over vast evolutionary timescales, certain reptilian lineages underwent profound exaptation, wherein scales modified into proto-feathers, facilitating thermoregulation and ultimately enabling powered flight. This trajectory underscores the deep evolutionary continuity between aquatic origins and the emergence of avian and terrestrial species, including mammals and, ultimately, humans. Lastly, the idea draws attention to our relationship with water and the role water plays in sustaining life.
